Start with the footprint
Measure the machine area, carton approach, operator position and outfeed space. A case taper needs enough room for cartons to enter and leave cleanly, not just enough space for the machine frame.
Conveyor height and direction
If the machine is part of a line, confirm conveyor height, travel direction and any transfer points. Small height differences can create handling problems if not planned early.
Power, air and safety
Requirements vary by machine type. Confirm electrical supply, compressed air if needed, guarding expectations, emergency stops and safe operator access.
Service clearance
Tape heads and wear parts need access. Leaving space for blade changes, belt checks and cleaning makes the installation easier to support.
Next step
For a practical recommendation, send carton dimensions, packed case weight, tape details, target output and photos of the current packing area. The aim is to match the case taper to your cartons and workflow, not to force a standard machine into the wrong process.
