Why top and bottom sealing matters
A top and bottom case taper seals both main carton seams, helping boxes leave the packing area with a cleaner and more repeatable finish. This is often useful for production, fulfilment and distribution operations where finished cases need to travel through conveyors or handling stages.
Stable cartons give better tape application
The carton needs to be presented squarely and with the flaps under control. Poor board quality, overfilled cases or uneven products can make taping less consistent, so the machine choice should consider the packed case, not just the empty carton dimensions.
Semi-automatic or automatic top and bottom taping
Operator-fed machines can work well where staff already pack and close cartons at benches. Automatic top and bottom case tapers suit lines with more consistent carton presentation and higher throughput.
Planning service access
Tape heads, blades, rollers and belts are service items. Leave space for access and plan spare parts so the sealing stage does not become a line stoppage.
Next step
For a practical recommendation, send carton dimensions, packed case weight, tape details, target output and photos of the current packing area. The aim is to match the case taper to your cartons and workflow, not to force a standard machine into the wrong process.
